Definitely check the floor of the slideout on along the edges for signs of rot.

No, not on a 2007. With the slide extended, go outside and look up at the black plastic coated board for soft spots. The big middle area should be OK but check. The hot spot on this vintage "may be" the edges. Look at the very ends of the slide front and back for soggy wood. The black floor is about 3/4" exposed on the ends. The coating sometimes cracks there and water wicks in. Your looking for soft or swelled wood. Wood that is hard is OK.
Another area to look at is the roof seams. Any edge with sealant. If the camper was stored outside and they never did any roof maintence, then the sealnt my have large splits that let water in. This thread may help on what to look for

If you find a small slit but it is not deep, that just means it needs to be fixed "now". If you find a real big wide and deep one, that means heads up, go looking for any sign of leak inside.
Being a 2007 the unit should be in very good shape, however not everyone gives TLC to a camper or even knows to.
Good luck and let us know how it goes.
OH, tires, check the date codes, they may need to be replaced due to age. Search DOT date code on tires for how to read the code. 5 years is about it on ST tires. The tread and cracks may be OK but pushing much past 5 years on hauling a heavy camper on tires that may not have been used in a while is not a good thing. This does not mean do not buy it, just heads up you know going in you may need to buy new tires or have then knock the price down.

The parts of the floor that need to be checked areoutside, with the slide extended. The bottom edges at the front and rear slide wallswere the problem spots. Rain water would run down and over the scre channel. It would then wick it's way under the slide floor itself. There were screw holes along the edges of the black membrane and water would get in there. If I were not on my phone, I would link to some threads about it. You can use the search feature and look for " Slide floor damage." That should bring up a lot for you.
From personal experience, slides that have had slide toppers (Slide awnings) generally do not experience this water damage problem.

John B, Thanks very much for the highly comprehensive troubleshooting overview. This unit is at an Ontario Canada dealer, who I know, but I have only looked at photos on line. I hope to see it this week and get an 'up close' look.
Just so the info will be 'on record' on the thread, I will let you know what I discover.
Thanks again,.....

Now that I'm home, I have access to all my stuff...
This pic is of a 2005 Sunline SR. Sunline changed the floor system in the very late 2004 year start of 2005 to the coated board for the slide floor. This was an industry change too, some higher end manufactures started to use this.
The issue that was then learned, the butt ends of the coated board that you see in this pic can crack, separate and then water seeps in through cracked coating swelling up the OSB board. The 2007 you are looking at is built like this. If you get your trailer and the floor is rock solid, good. However as a preventive measure you can cover the board end later on.
The slide floor rot Gary (EMD_Driver) is referring to is ~ 2000 ish to 2004 vintage. The older one may have it too. I had the dreaded slide floor rot, but it is all fixed now. The floor in this case was Darco vapor barrier membrane covered. And they put screws in the floor from the bottom up, right through the membrane.
Well luck was in your favor or not... I my case not... Water running down the side of the slide would roll under the slide about 3/4" then break free and fall to the ground. The bad luck was if it found one of those screw holes and let water go in above the membrane. Once in there is no way out other then to rot it self out. Believe it or not, many brands still today build them like this. I see them at the shows. Sunline was one of the 1st few in the industry to try and make the situation better with the coated floor and rollers. They just never stayed around long enough to learn of the cracked coating issues. The industry now has different way to seal the ends.
Here is a thread alerting of the problem and how to spot it
http://www.sunlineclub.com/forums/f7...eck-11086.html
That 286 is a nice unit. Several here have the T280SR or later 286 front kitchen.
Good luck
John

I need to get to bed, but here's a couple quick things to look for:
- Tires. Definitely replace them if they are original Mission brand tires, NOW. I had a blowout last summer and fortunately it didn't do any damage, but I was lucky.
- When the slide room is in, check the metal plate mounted to the underneath of the slide floor to make sure it touches the rubber seal when the room goes in. It is critical that these meet so water doesn't come up in there. Quite a few had these in the wrong place, mine included, and gallons of water will come up in there if you tow in the rain. Believe it or not, some people haven't towed in the rain, so it hasn't been a problem. But you don't want it open anyway.
- Make sure the Dometic refrigerator recall has been performed. You'll know it by a big metal cover plate covering like half of the back of the refrigerator when you take the outside panel off. There should be a white sticker on that plate too. This is a safety hazard if it hasn't been done.
Feel free to let me know if you have specific questions about this model. I had the pleasure of taking all the original tags and packaging off of mine
