Best as I can tell based on what the previous owner's camping habits were like, I estimate mine actually just rolled over the 6000 mile mark on the way to Mendon last fall.

I'm of the opinion that if I'm going through the trouble to pull it apart to check them, I may as well put the new parts in and be done.

If you want to stay on the original nylon bushings, then yes changing them every 6,000 miles will work.

Yep been through 3 sets in mine even thought about bronze bushings and grease fittings but shoot it's so simple to just replace them got to repack the bearing any way.
