TV Brake Pads

I still have the original pads on the Expedition that I got last summer. I've got a little over 19,000 miles on it . I'm looking to upgrade the pads. I'm getting tired of having to clean the dust off the front wheels every time I drive the truck. Has anyone upgraded the brakes on their TV? If so what kind are you using?

I'm a member of Ford Truck World. I'm looking into this there too. I just want to make sure I don't end up with something that's good for the truck empty but not as good when loaded up with the Sunline.

If your issue is really brake dust, then your best bet would be to run a set of quality ceramic pads. They dust very little in comparison to other types.

Yes I agree with Frank. On my last GM when I chaged pads and rotors, I went with the high end low dusting ceramic pads out of NAPA. I foget the brand name it was a major name. The pads worked great but I will never let my local NAPA turn a rotor again for me. 0.008" runout on rotor burns disk pads like candy. The 2nd set of pads and "new" rotors
0.0005" runout) worked flawless until I sold the truck about 25K miles later.

Good luck

John

I have had Wagner Thermoquiet pads on the front and rear of my F-150 for about 25K miles and I am very happy with their performance and lack of brake dust. The little bit that comes off of them is a grayish color and just makes the rims look a little dull after a couple hundred miles or so. A quick wipe and they look like new again...

Here's a link to the Wagner webpage:http://federal-mogul.com/en/Aftermar...e/Thermoquiet/

They can be purchased at your local parts store or www.rockauto.com for around $50-60 set.
