Towing a t-1950 or 195sr with a 2003 Tacoma?
Found my truck on the web...
Extended Xtracab with rear jump seats, 74.5-inch long bed.
DOHC 190-horsepower 3.4-liter V6 that puts out 220 lb-ft. of torque.
V6 Tacomas can tow up to 5,000 pounds
GVWR=5100LBS
An optional TRD Off-Road Package is available for 4X4s and PreRunner. It adds a locking rear differential, off-road shock absorbers, progressive-rate front springs, heavy-duty rear springs, a larger front stabilizer bar, aluminum wheels and 265/70 R16 BF Goodrich off-road tires. Black overfenders and TRD graphics complete the package.
New Standards for All in 2003
Four-wheel anti-lock brake system (ABS).
Wheel Base: 121.90 in.
Curb Weight: 3270 lbs
Width: 66.50 in.
My truck does not have the tow package but it did come with a factory hitch rated at 5100k. I am looking into adding on whatever was included in the factory tow package which will get me to 6k lbs. Will this put me in a safe area to be in? I guess the T1950 would be the best way for me to go since its dry weight is so much lower than the 195sr.
Fire away with any suggestions.
Thanks for your time,
Billy & Tedi
