Ouch! Spent $600 on the TV today...
Our new Sunny hauler has been rubbing the tread off the inside of the left-front tire... Until today. I try to do as much of the repair work on our trucks as I can, but I can't do tires or alignments. Today, I ended up getting some new tires and an alignment. When I went to the tire place, the guys were extremely nice and helpful. I was even allowed into the warehouse, to pick the tires I wanted. I looked at some Firestones, Coopers and Mastercrafts. To my surprise, all three brands were made in North America! The Firestones were made in Canada and the other two were made in the USA.
I ended up getting two of the 50,000 mile Mastercraft tires, because the date code was the 12th week of 2011. I didn't need rear tires yet, so I only bought a set for the front. The guys at the tire shop were even nice enough to put metal valve stems on the front and extra-long valve stems, on the inside duals for me.. The metal valve stems were installed free of charge!
Once the tires were on, it was down to the alignment shop. It turned out, that my left-front wheel was pretty far out and needed the camber adjusted quite a bit.
My total bill today was nearly $600, but the TV is now ready to tow Sunny safely!
