My TV has kept me away too long!
Since I bought the 99 dually, it has had problems. It's now on it's fourth set of injectors, since I bought it. Once I figured out the fuel pressure problem I was having, it's been fixed.
Problem is, that I got a bad batch of fuel and it coked up the piston rings and exhaust valves really bad. That batch of fuel even got Kitty's truck to smoking badly too.
I installed a water injection system in Kitty's truck, soon after we bought it. I found that the nozzle had been leaking turbo boost pressure and removed it for fixing. It was after removing the nozzle, that her truck got the bad fuel. Someone suggested that coking was most likely the culprit. That was a good incentive, for me to get her nozzle back in and working properly!
Within 3 days, the smoking problem in her truck was gone!
Fast forward to today.. I finally got all the parts and installed a water injection system in the dually. I took it for a test drive and it looks promising. Hopefully, the water will steam clean the coking in the 99's engine and get rid of the terrible smoking problem it has. The truck has been sitting for nearly a month, since I couldn't drive it that way.
Kitty now has her truck back and I'm sure she's happy about it. I've been getting a lot of overtime lately and she has been stuck at home.
Hopefully now, I'll be able to take Sunny to get the JT strong arms installed and the roof re-caulked. That was part of the deal, for the 17-1/2SB trade.

I have one more modification to try, in order to keep the fuel pressure from dropping like it is. I have that 80 gallon tank in the bed and it's equipped with supply, return and sending unit lines. I plan to route the lines under the truck and use the bed tank's pump, to supply pressurized fuel to the factory pump. The tank's pump is unable to supply enough pressure for my truck's needs, but will supply more than enough volume.
