It's important to use a good brake controller. I found yours at Amazon showing a 4.5 star rating by 18 people. Check that out as well as other ratings and the response you get here.

You might check out the Prodigy thread here too. They are about the same price.

It came on the truck I just purchased. I plan on switching out to my Prodigy 2 but just wondering if anyone had experience with the Hayes Lemmerz Energizer lll. I don't like it as well as my Prodigy 2 already.

Hi Jim,

I have heard of the name but never used one or know of anyone yet who has one, well... other than you now...

ENERGIZE III and ENERGIZE XPC | Hayes Brake Controllers

Looking it up is is a proportional controller which is a step in the right direction. It is a pendulum type and as such it need to be setup correctly to work right. That link has the manual and the install directions in case you did not have it. Scroll down to the bottom.

Looking over the literature I see this one way ahead of the timed based controllers however it may or may not work as smooth as your P2

Since it is installed, maybe read over the directions and make sure it is installed and setup correctly and give it a try. If it is not going to cut it, well switch over to your P2.

Have you had a chance to tow with the new truck yet?

Hope this helps

John
