Hi,
Yes, matching the wallboard in our Sunlines is not easy. Sometimes, it gets harder the older the camper.
I use these options depending on whether I am replacing the wallboard or not.
1. When the wall rot is bad enough, I have to replace the wallboard as the 1/8" Luan backer board is delaminated and gone. In these cases, most times, this is an entire wall. I have gone to the RV surplus places and bought new 4 x 8 sheets of wallboard with vinyl paper on them, take a piece of your old board and best match it to the room. Sometimes, I had to redo a sound wall with the new wallboard to make the whole room match the new color. It then looks like you walked into a new room with a different wall covering. Sometimes, local lumber yards have some paneling that can be used. The choices are limited, but it's worth a shot.
2. When I cannot find anything, I would buy bare 1/8" luan plywood and install it on the studs. This looks similar to what you have done already. Then I go to a paint store that sells commercial wallpaper—Sherwin Williams in our area. Now, we have a lot of choices, a mind-boggling number of choices. Again, take an old piece of wallboard to match it up. These come in 24" and 48" wide rolls. I tell the clerk I want to bond this paper to bare luan plywood, and I need the right glue to work on the wood and below freezing temps and up to 120 degrees F; some buildings get this way. They may tell you you have to prime the wall with paint, etc, or they may have glue that can go directly. I have seen this done before in buildings, and it is my go-to approach if I cannot find a replacement wallboard. Again, I might have to paper over existing walls to make the room match.
Since you are dealing with wallboard and wall rot, this post may help on how to save the wallboard intact to not have to tear it out in the first place. It all depends on how deteriorated the wallboard is. If you can poke your finger through the wall, it's too far gone to save. But if not, then this method can work.

I hope this helps. Let us know how to make it out. It can help others in the same situation that worked for you.
