Wevac Black Water Tank - Repair Material

My black water tank was manufactured by Wevac Plastic Corp of Elkhart, Indiana. I need todo a crack repair and what I don't know is exactly what material the tank is made of. Would anyone have any insight? Thank you.

ABS.

There are several threads here describing black tank repairs in great detail. They should pretty much answer most questions.

I read three but did not exactly find what type of plastic was used in the tanks construction, and I may have missed something. I feel competent I can fix the tank just don't know whether to plastic weld, use some sort of epoxy or a solvent weld.

The black and gray tanks are usually ABS plastic. And that does look like one.

We have had many folks use ABS solvent weld to repair cracks with very good success. Here are some threads on this

And if you need more, try this Google Custom Search our Admin made for our site. It works much better then the embedded search tool on the forum.

Scroll down to the "Google Custom Search" box below the main one. Put in "ABS repair" and hit go. It will find all threads with those words and much more.

Hope this helps and good luck. Let us know how you make out so we can add your repair to the list

John
