Water Heater Replacement

Hello everyone! Still a total newb to campers, but I have learned a lot since I picked this up last year, in large part due to the wonderful people on this forum. After a long winter and wet, wet spring I am back on my 1981 16RB project, and I have 2 questions:

1. How do I remove/replace the water heater? I hooked up street water to it and found the tank to be busted and leaking water heavily. Pics of the tank and the exterior area are attached.

2. Third pic...what is this connection on the outside of the unit for?

Thanks in advance!
Phil

Hi Phil,

On the water heater removal, see this thread for help. That water heater is newer then yours, but the process is the same.

This pic is the fresh air intake and burnt gas exhaust vent for your camper furnace.

Hope this helps.

If you need more info., let us know.
