Water Heater Problem

We have a 2005 Sunline Solaris 2553 with an Atwood hot water heater. It is both gas and 120V. Last evening we found out that the hot water was not flowing in the camper. However it was the night before. I checked the hot water bypass valve and it was open to allow water into the water heater. Opened up the pressure relief valve on the outside of the camper and there was plenty of hot water in the water heater. Not sure what else to check. Any ideas on what I could check. Thanks

Where do you live? Could it be possible that your pipes are frozen? What year and model of trailer do you have? It may be the case of opening some cupboard/storage doors and allowing heat to get to them. Do you have a portable heater that you can use? This has been a tough winter in the north-east. Good luck

The most common cause for no hot water flowing when there is hot water in the tank is the brass check valve at the top rear of the tank. Sometimes just giving it a good whack with wrench will free it .... sometimes ...

Hi Jim,

If your pipes are not froze, I agree with Gene on the stuck check valve on the outlet of the HW heater.

This pic is from my prior 2004 T2499, your 2005 should look the same. See the brass check valve Gene is talking about on the top discharge port

We are assuming the cold it working OK, just not the hot?

Hope this helps

John
