Two new water leaks...

Went on our first trip this past weekend and found that water is leaking from the toilet sprayer when you press the pedal to flush. I haven't yet looked for parts. Was wondering if anyone ever replaced one of those.

Also, I was over at the neighbor's site when my wife ran over stating that we had a flood under our trailer.

Turns out it was grey water, believed to be coming from the connection where the kitchen sink drains into the grey water tank. The tank was full, but it normally backs up into the sink and she yells at me to dump it.

Trying to decide how I'm going to tackle that problem as well. Once I drained it, we could still use the kitchen sink. It was no longer leaking.

Just saw that camping world is selling the whole kit for $55. Yikes! Hope I can find just the sprayer and hose.

Some questions to maybe help the "how to" fix

Is the leak inside the camper in the pipe? It does not sound like it, but just asking.

Is the leak outside under the camper in the exposed pipe where you can see it?

Is the leak seem to be coming off the top of the tank, water runs around from top and sticks to the side of the tank to then finally falls off to the ground on the bottom of the tank?

Can you actually see the leak spot with water gushing out?

The leak, how big is it? A trickle, steady 1/8" flow, steady 1/4" water flow, A gusher of lots of water flow?

Trying to figure out if it is connection on the tank were the drain connection pipe hooks in, (should leak all the time when water flows to the tank) OR it is a leak in the tank vent stack to the roof and would only leak when the tank reaches near full? Or something else.

Any pics?

If it is the vent stack pipe, you may have to drop the tank and work on the vent/tank fitting. A piping leak more in the open can be ABS pipe welded.

It was leaking outside from the top of the tank where the sink drain pipe goes in. It was a good amount of water, not just a trickle. Once I drained the tank, we could still use the kitchen sink without any leaks. I am guessing that it is just where that drain pipe enters the tank. Maybe the connection lost its seal and it overflowed when the tank was full. I haven't had a chance to climb under there now that we are home.

Well if it is the drain pipe and not the vent, don't know if they used a ABS weld fitting or not.

I looked at the way my 2004 T310DR was made, it has enclosed tanks so I went back to my pile of pics to my 2004 T2499 and looked at that gray tank.

See here on the T2499. You cannot see the sink/shower drain entry or the vent pipe as the tank is dead flush up against the black Darco membrane.

Tank held up by these clips. I painted them to slow down the rust, if you didn't they are most likely pretty rusted by now.

If yours is leaking above the tank, that might be an issue as there is not a lot of room to let the water get out. Heads up, it is not up into the insulation or above the Darco. That is one thing about the waterproof membrane, while it will keep water out, once water gets on the wrong side, it can't get out...

I'm making an assumption your 2006 is made very similar. I'm "thinking"
(not sure) the sink drain connection is a hard pipe connection into the top of the tank. To make it leak, it might be somehow cracked. The vent stack sometimes use a rubber ring. Well maybe the leak is out of the vent stack connection

OR are you talking about the exposed dump pipe? The tank drain, not the actual sink/shower drains that go into the top of tank? If it is the dump pipe, that is a whole lot easier.

Thanks John. It's definitely not coming from the drain pipe. That is on the opposite side. I also feel comfortable thinking it's not from the vent pipe as that is also on the opposite side, but the water could have traveled along the top of the tank before running down the sides. I'll try to get under there if the weather cooperates.

Sounds like a crack around the top weld on inlet, these are abs and can be glued, patched. But to access one must drop the tank.
Johns pic are spot on, as those clips been used for ever! Same on my 81!
Find a spot where you can cut the drains AND vent pipe so you can couple it back useing a abs glue or rubber coupling, use new seals/ valve at the end drain.
Mark the wires for tank sensors. GL

Well I stuck my head (camera) under the trailer Friday and found two inlets to the grey water tank; one from the kitchen sink and the other combines the shower and bathroom sink. Surprisingly, it doesn't attach flush to the bottom of the trailer as some of you have mentioned. I am not actually sure which connection is leaking. I cannot really get a good look at it because there is not enough clearance to get my head in there. The water was flowing off the front (curb side) of the trailer but it was also on a slight slope so it is possible that the water was flowing down from the other drain. However, my wife had just finished washing dishes so that makes me think it was also the front area where the kitchen drain pipe enters.

Wow, your floor plan puts that tank in a totally different mounting location then other Sunnies. If you get some time can you post more pics the setup? Close and far away to see how it is mounted in relation to the camper. I can see the slide rack drive above the tank and a Darco wood wrapped aboard across the area doing ???

It looks like your black tank is up high to the floor or did I get that wrong?

The good news, your is not mounted to the floor.... May need to take a pic when leaking to see the leak. The other good news water should not be above the Darco membrane soaking up your insulation. This can be worse....

Great point about it not soaking up in the floor. And yes, the black tank is up higher. It's raining out there now but I'll try to get some more pics up. The tank is supported on one side by that zig zag steel bar mount you can see in the photo. As I look at the picture I have no idea what's supporting the other side, but I think it goes end to end between the trailer frame I-beams probably holding the rest of the weight. They must have dropped it down because of that slide out mechanism.

Took some more photos. I was wrong about that support. The tank is totally held up by metal bars that run the length of the tank between the I-beams.

Thanks for the pics. Learned something new. That must be unique to your floor plan.

The gray tank has a flange on the sides and it lays in an angle iron frame works somewhat like the fresh tanks. I see the Darco membrane covered board going across tank and bolting in to hold the tank from bouncing up when empty.

Your tank also hangs lower then most, keep that in mind if going over things.

I inspected the grey tank connections today and both seem fine. No obvious cracks or loose pipes. I cannot figure out where the leak was coming from and it has not done it since. Aside from overflowing the grey tank again, I don't know where else to look.

H'mm, well it might take filling the tank again and looking.

The only other thought is to look for water running witness lines from the last time. Dirt etc would of created a flow pattern and disturbed all the dust on the top of the tank, "maybe". May need to get a mirror and flash light to see the top of the tank.

I was able to get my head in there but did not see anything like water running lines. The top was dirty and dusty. Oh well. I'm not going to worry about it for now. If I feel ambitious one day I'll try to overfill it to see what happens. The other thing I noticed is that the top is actually glued on to it. I wonder if there is a leak in the seam somewhere.
