Selingsgrove Pa RV Dealers/Repair?

Anyone had the wheel bearings repacked etc in that area?
Bought Sunny new @ Salem rv really havnt had any service work there or anywhere recently.

The guy that serviced my camper under warranty years ago didnt really impress me with his abilitiy?

At the rates these places are charging would like a little first hand knowledge of their capabilities.
Any info appeciated

What about Susquehanna? I've never had any experience with them, but in terms of Sunline inventory, they move quite a bit through. I can't say I've heard of Salem, or if I have, I've only seen one or two there. I guess that says something about them though, if Susquehanna is that much more popular.

Oh ok, I understand. We have a big one like that around here too.

If no one comes through here, another option would be to talk to the local private campgrounds, especially ones with seasonals. They often have little bulletin boards in the office or just know of names of people who do RV work on the side. I'm doing that with a boat I need some engine work on right now. I've talked to people who use a guy to put in/take out all of their boats every year and he does boat work on the side too, while he's a transmission engineer at Ford by day.

Thanks thats a good idea on the campgrond seasonals etc.
A guy working on the side would be great !

PS Susquhanna rv owns a campground (PennAvon)just a few miles from their facility. There are 2 or 3 other camgrounds within about a 10 mile radius from the dealerships.

Check with Kreamer Auto they do some work for Susquehanna RV. They are in Kreamer (570-374-6424) They do my car and trailer inspections and repairs and are resonably priced. By the way were are you from I am in Kreamer. I also bought my sunline last year from Salem but they just changed ownership and some of the employees left and some new ones are there.

In that case, Farnsworth in Elysburg was a Sunline dealer through the end. Not sure how they are price/reputation wise, but they might be a little closer to you.

Btw, if you have a nice day to get your trailer on the road, this is definitely the time of year to get that kind of work done. They all start getting busy in April.

Kreamer is just about 4 miles out 522( towards Middleburg) from Salem And Susquehanna. Since your in Catawissa I would check out Farnsworth that is much closer to you.

I am sure you know that Susquehanna has a small satelite location just down from the Bloomsburg Fairgrounds. It is closer to Catawissa than Selingsgrove where their main business is.

We live about 20+ miles west of Selinsgrove on Rte. 522. We bought our 2363 last August from a private owner but did look at some Sunlines at the Susquehanna RV lot. (Their salesperson told us that we could tow almost anything they had on their lot with our F-150. ) The TT owners that we know in this area are not eager to use Susquehanna for service. From what we understand, quality of service runs hot-and-cold and there is frequent turnover of mechanics in their shop. As far as dealership service goes in the central PA area, we've heard the most positive comments about Lerch RV off Rte. 322 in Milroy - but that's not close for you.

About 15 miles west of Kreamer on Rte. 522 in Beaver Springs is Bill's RV Parts & Service (570-658-2340). Bill, the owner, worked for Thor for over 20 years when they made Citation TTs in Middleburg, PA. He's done some minor work on our 2363 and we've found him to be honest and inexpensive. But that's not exactly local for you either!

I thought I remembered kreamer from somewhere. I usually go to Lerch rv for their spring RV sale. Their about 75 miles from me. Nice ride out that 522 nice country.

I spoke to Bloomsburg Susquhanna rv the other day an I got the impression that repacking wheel bearings is not the typical type work they do Which is kinda uderstandable. They said their service is booked already for 4~5 wks, they just have a sale @ the Bloom fair grounds.

I guess I could talk to Farnworth. I couldnt strike a deal with them to order my Sunline back in 02. They were several hundred more than Salem, I ordered my camper. The bulk of their busniness is motor homes. They seam to handle travel trailers as a side line. IMO.

Well lots to think about from all you inputs. Thanks everone.

Got a local garage you trust? A wheel bearing is a wheel bearing does not matter if it's a camper or a truck might be worth a shot most likely cheaper too.

I just had MaxxAir II vents installed by Kelly Mobile Homes at West Milton. I also had the wheel bearings repacked there too. As far as I can tell the jobs were done well. Also, just across the street from Kelly Mobile Homes is Kelly's Service, very good,- not related to Kelly Mobile Homes. They have done bearing repacks and inspections for me, too. But they do not have a workspace under roof big enough for trailers and do not generally do RV work.

I really don't know if I want to take it to my regular mechanic. I think I might need brakes as well.

I guess I would trust him on the wheel brg. repack. But I know someone that had him work on their trailer brakes and wasn't completly satisfied.

That's what kinda makes me a little shakey. These mechanics are not afraid to be charging these high labor rates, (even if they don't know what their doing "ALL" the time.) Most of the time yes but not all the time. IMO
