Janalee,

See the post "Looking for a tv mount"

The way to detach is the way I showed. Easy is a) how much access you have under the cabinet right or left in the area of the tv's sides to allow you to get at the screws with the included allen wrench.

The total extension of arm is not a lot thus tv can only pivot right or left a few degrees.

If you can post pictures of the area you plan to put you tv I may be able to give more info.

The allen wrench tightening and loosening is relative to your individual strength. More on that later after seeing your pictures.

Janalee,

If possible link what you found and also pictures of your project as it may very well help others doing something very similar.

I installed two TV's last summer/fall. One in the T-2053 and one in the T-1550.

I studied closely a thread that someone on the forum had posted. It was very helpful for the T-2053 as that TV is mounted on the partition between the bedroom and the kitchen. The arm swings out as well as up and allowing viewing back toward the front dinette. I also needed/wanted the LENGTH this unit offered, esp. for the price.

The TV wall mount was from Monoprice. Highly recommend.

I buy all my cable for electronics from them.

Do you still need the screen door spring mount? I have the camper at the house and can take a pic.

Well, I have part of it up on the file server. I was resetting the door frame when this pic was taken, however the spring will attach to the screw to hold the hinge to the screen door.

I'll get better pics.

I started with the 2 springs but after a while went to only 1 spring.

Both mount the same way, they use a screw hole on the hinge and then you drill a new one in the center between the 2 doors. One on the top hinge, the other on the bottom hinge.

I found the 2 springs was a bit too much spring. The added push was more then wanted and the "whip" back at ya was a bit much too. We just got use to the easy open of no springs, but like the fact the door did come back on it's own. So the 1 spring compromise has worked out well.

JohnB....again-thank you very much!!. I will install today. We really need it to come back so our kitty doesn't escape. I will do it on the lower hinge as yours is pictured, leaving the top one free in case I find I need another.

Kathy and Leo..mainah has posted a pic of a different way..the way JohnB and I did it was using the Camco springs-come in a set of two that are 7"long. I got mine at Walmart.com,picked them up at the store so no shipping $$..I paid $6.00. I don't seem to be able to post pics here. You attach one end of spring to the hinge(as Johns would have shown but he had detached it from the spring so the door wouldn't keep closing while he was working on something)..and you drill a hole in the frame 9" straight up from that hinge screw. Stretch the spring up and insert the included screw. If you want more tension, repeat process from the top hinge coming down. Directions and picture on their package. I remember doing it mainahs way but it has a tendency to make noise. Janalee

Mine is plenty quiet but it is strong enough to close the outside door if it is attached (magnets). I guess you mean closing and yes it closes pretty good but not suppressing the screen is very light.
