roof vent or patch hole

I have a 5th wheel 1850 with a broken vent on the roof. the vent was above the refrigerator compartment. Not sure what the function was and considering covering the hole since I am changing the refrig to a standard 110 volt and no gas. Can someone tell me the following:

1) What is this vent for ?
2) Where can I purchase one ? size is approx. 20" x 6"
3) What can I use to patch hole if decide not to reinstall ?
4) Where can I buy patch material ?

It's for the fridge to cool the condenser and to vent the gas when operating on propane. RV stores should have replacement covers. You'll have to relay on some one else of you want to delete it. Shame your in GA I could use a gas fridge for a small cabin I have on the property!
