Roof info needed

Just put a ladder up to inspect the roof and found that the membrane is sagging at the front left corner, making it lower than the metal curving up to meet it. Water has been pooling there and the sealant along the joint between the membrane and the channel attaching it is peeling up.

What is the best way to prevent this from becoming a problem?

Wright

Well, if the rubber roof appears to be sagging, then the "budboard" underneath has probably already gotten wet. Now you will have to determine how extensive the damage is and repair it or have it repaired. The sagging is how Gary discovered that we had a leak, the rear door side rear corner had sagged about 2 inches where the ladder attaches. Her is a link to that post & repair:

Can you post a picture or 2? It would be helpfull so we can see what you are seeing.

The front area sag, well that occurs on some models that does not have a walk on roof. BUT some times it more then the sag like Kitty found out.

Since the bud board is draped over the rafters there is not a lot of support to help hold it up. I have a small amount of the problem on one front corner.

Before I go to much further on how I dealt with mine, need to see if you have the same issue or not.

The chaulk will scrape up fairly easy, added heat from a heat guns helps too just do not get too carried away with the heat and dull off (round) and scraper end you use. You use Dicro self leveling sealent on these rubber roofs at the joint areas. It does work well, but can get cracks in it after a 3 to 4 year and pending how much road travel etc. A crack in the chaulk is not good and should be fixed ASAP. Water get in the crack, festers, and come winter it will freeze, break open even more and then water starts getting in.

Hope this helps

John
