Hi Gregory,
Your year 2000 camper EPDM rubber roof is 22 years old. Pending the care the roof received, how the camper was stored in the off season during those 22 years, and what condition it is in now, all creates an answer to your question.
Roof coatings are a need for a few reasons, the main one is that the white shed layer on the EPDM rubber is getting thin or is already showing black rubber signs.
This is what the white shed layer looks like when it is worn through to the black layer. This roof needs a coating or replacement.
There are other reasons roof coatings help too, pending what you are trying to solve or prevent.
Can you post some pics of the roof so we can see what it looks like? And include all the caulking also in the pics? Age by itself is not a good indicator.
Do you know if you have any roof leaks, or have ever looked for a roof leak?
Post some pics and answers as best you can and we can go from there to help better.
Do you need help on posting pics? We really need to see what you have to make a good recommendation on what to do.
Hope this helps
John
