Repairs & maintenance
Tore the front of the trailer apart this morning, wire brushed metal, sanded, cleaned and rattle can painted. Put a clean end on the trailer connection, checked, works correctly. The old one had a 4 pole flat wired in, and not done very well. It's amazing things worked! Also painted the propane tank base, and the rear bumper. Needed new square u-bolts for both the propane tank base and spare tire carrier, so had to run for those. Got everything back together except for the Bargman.
Still need to order a Bargman, brakes are tomorrow or Monday, not sure yet. Got brake cleaner, ready to clean, grease a few things, check and roll.
Bargman has two wires, one a blue wire going into the chassis at the same place the white and black from the 12V battery go, and a white ground. Does that sound right? I guess there will be instructions with it. The trailer is too low and I'm too old to crawl around on gravel underneath it to look. I got a buddy with a commercial garage, maybe I can get in there sometime. It would be nice to wire brush, sand, clean and paint the entire under-chassis.
Battery, for having a date of 12/07 is in great shape, good voltage and took a 100% charge easy.
Need to figure out what bulb the license plate light takes. Seems to be missing. Also have one of the 5 upper marker lights across the top of the trailer out, need to check that out. Doing good.
More later.
