Removing the refrigerator

We recently purchased a 1981 14 ft Sunline Camper. We are doing repairs to the inside, have taken out the old refrigerator, but cannot get it out the camper door without taking it apart. Any suggestions?

I don not know your exact camper but this has come up on other floor plans/model years as well.

In some cases, the fridge door was removed and that made it sneak out the entry door way.

In the worst cases... either a large enough window had to be pulled or the entry door unit pulled out.

Hope this helps

John

I had the same issue with an 18ft brand X a number of years ago. I found a Mennonite repair shop in Shipshewana, IN. They made the failed part in their own shop, as it was not available from the manufacturer, and they performed the repair inside the trailer. I realize you are a long distance away, however, a search may lead you to someone closer that can do the same thing, if you are looking to have your fridge repaired.
Hope this helps.

Ran into the same situation with the motorhome. As mentioned, you may have to remove a window to change the whole unit. I elected to replace the cooling unit which was almost half as much money. Plus, I was able to place a moving blanket on the jackknife couch, lay the fridge face down and swap out the unit inside the camper. I used one of the Amish built cooling units and it has been working fine.

Ran into this last year with my 1661 and my brother was able to dismantle most of it down to a size he could get out the door..I have a photo of it dismantled and as soon as I figure how to get it to you I will post it..It may even be in the photo section as I believe I posted it here..it was a tight squeeze but doable! We then replaced it with a very nice electric unit..

Take care not to puncture the cooling unit as you will have very potent contents spilling!
