Propane gas system

Should I be concerned about the rusting of the pipes that carries the propane gas under the trailer? I haven't had any issues with leaks, but I was under the trailer checking them out today. They seem to have a lot of surface rust.

Ditto on what Mainah says. The rust would have to be very severe indeed before it would compromise the integrity of the pipe wall.

It's an easy job to eliminate the concern altogether. With the tanks valved off (or, better, removed entirely), just go over the piping with a wire wheel or wire brush until the rust is removed, and then cover them with a good corrosion-inhibiting paint like Rustoleum.

This is one of my jobs on our camper for the off-season. The rust is unsightly, and I don't want it to progress any further.

Frankly I would not worry about it you'll never get it all off unless you remove the pipe and I guaranty it will out last both of us. My old family home had rusty old black iron gas pipes in it and they were at least 100 years old.
