Hi Glen,
The oven, If the pilot lights and burns when you are pressing the knob in and then goes out when you let go, this generally points to the thermocouple is not getting heated enough or it has issues not holding the gas valve open. Or the gas valve has issues.
I have only had a positioning issue, and not a bad thermocouple or gas valve on the Wedgewood oven.
Look at the thermocouple, is it in the direct pilot flame path? Meaning the thermocouple is engulfed in the flame? If not try and adjust. If I recall right, the themocouple is pretty rigid and screwed into a hole that it cannot move much. But then again, something may have hit it if things are stored in the oven. (do you know what the thermocouple looks like? it is right above the pilot flame)
I'm assuming you are using a grill lighter to try and light the oven, yes/no? You can sort of test the thermocouple/gas valve by holding the grill lighter flame right on the thermocouple while lighting the pilot and if you let go of the knob after the normal time to light has elapsed and it still keeps burning because you are heating the thermocouple with the lighter, then this at least tells you the gas valve has a good chance of working and it tells you the thermocouple has some life left it is as long as it gets heated right. Again, if it will stay lite with the grill lighter, then it points to the pilot flame not heating the thermocouple correctly. Or you have a weak thermocouple or maybe the pilot line has a small blockage not letting enough gas through to create the heat to make the Thermocouple work.
The wind issue, you are supposed to have a window in the camper kitchen area cracked open when using the stove or oven. The high wind alert I "think" deals with the top burners. You do not want a high draft to blow out the flame and leave raw gas flowing. Or it may blow the flame down under the cook top, not good either. I do not know if there is an issue with the oven, but if you feel a large air current in the camper, the oven vent is at the back of the stove. In a high wind issue, yeh it may create a high draft through the oven with the door open but I would think you would be feeling the wind in the camper. If so, wait until the massive breeze stops.
Hope this helps. Let us know what you find out
John
