Older Factory Radio
Howdy, all.
My '99 T-2453 has a "no name" AM-FM stereo in it, and that's the unit that came from the factory. The model number is AE-2000, and the little tiny booklet that came with it says the company name is River Park. I haven't taken it apart yet, but I suspect it is made overseas for River Park Inc. in Elkhart, Indiana. (I suspect that this unit was designed and marketed to the RV manufacturers as Elkhart, IN is the home of Fleetwood and many other RV builders.)
This unit also has a simple graphic equalizer, cassette player, plugs and switches for an add-on CD player, and also an auxilary input.
And, yes, it has a slick remote control, too.
Now, my problem. The thing works just fine with one tiny exception: The led read-out has gone dark. This makes it kinda tough to tune a FM channel.
Anybody got any ideas how to get this thing fixed without spending an arm and a leg. I am hoping that maybe it's just an internal fuse that I can get to, or something equally simple.
I already did some google searches, and don't find any references to this thing anywhere in the Internet.
My local small appliance repair guy charges $35 just to look at something, and then parts and labor beyond that. Since I could replace this thing for between $100 and $200, it doesn't make sense to put much money into fixing an eight year old stereo.
