no water pressure

Need some help guys. I am camping this weekend and found that the water pressure was very low. We are connected to hook ups so no pump issues. I tried it with filter and pressure regulator removed with no improvement. I then stuck a screwdriver into the check valve and got soaked, plus the spring and o ring came out. It was no better after that. Any ideas????

Is it all through the trailer or one faucet? If just one or two check the screens in the aerators. They just screw out and stuff gets behind them.

Are your low point drain valves closed?

Its at all faucets. Low point drains are closed. If it isn't used for awhile it's a little better, but goes down to a trickle after about 5 seconds.

If the valve came out of the city water fitting your water will run out on the ground when you turn the pump on.

We are connected to city water so we're not using the pump. Haven't used it in years. I will remove the check valve tomorrow to see if that helps.

I suppose it's possible there is part of the valve stuck in a fitting, the city water just joins the cold water pump system. Can you run your water pump? If it gives you good pressure then some thing is wrong with the city supply side.

This should help with the check valve fix if yours is made like this. Do not push that plunger in when pressure is on the system. It will blow out the O ring. I proved it, twice no less....

http://www.sunlineclub.com/forums/f7...air-11736.html

Does the toilet flush normal? The toilet uses more water then the faucet. The screens in the faucets and or the aerators get plugged with dirt/calcium easily. If the toilet flushes normal, then it points to something in the camper heading to the faucet being clogged.

Even try blasting water out the low point drains. If they blow hard with water, you need to be looking at the faucet itself. If the low point drains only let out a trickle, then you have a inlet issue some how.

Hope this helps

I actually found that thread on a google search for rv check valve problems. I removed the plunger and everything was fine after that. I was going to reassemble it but realized that I am missing a piece. I have the plunger, spring, and o-ring but not that other white plastic piece. I don't know if it fell out some previous time or when the water blasted out in my face. Either way, I guess I'll have to replace the whole thing.
