No 12vdc in my Sunline RV Trailer

I've got no 12vdc coming out of my converter board. I have 120vac going in and the pc board mounted fuse is good. Can I assume the converter board has gone bad? Any suggestions on where I can get it repaired or buy a replacement? I know Sunline is out of business

There are two fuses if it's a modern unit maybe if you can provide a module # it would help Sunline did not make the converters so they are common to other brands.

My RV is number T2363 made in 2000. All my fuses are good so am pretty sure converter module is bad. Have looked a bunch on line and can't find this model. I will probably have to buy a complete power center. Found one at Bestconverter.com made by Boondocker their model no. BPC4-60. $215. They say it fits in the American Enterprise size opening.

You should also have 120v breakers, one of which feeds the convertor. Check for those first.

I have since taken the converter of board all the way out of the RV and applied 120vac to the black and white wires and I'm getting no dc voltage out on the yellow and white 12vdc output legs. Something on the pc board is bad.

Some chargers need to be hooked to batteries to check for output.

Smile Shop for new . ? Prior 9 volt out

Sounds like it might be time for new converter. Some of new may have better features, and also quiet. ? My prior Sunny purchase drove me crazy, thought the owner battery was 10 - 11 year old with the code sticker, but eventually measured only NINE volts were being sent up to front battery.. If the cost is not in your budget , one can bring along a typical garage / Sears/ car charger to juice up the battery.

Gentlemen: my issue is with the converter portion of the power
module (mine is located in the hall wall below the shower plumbing access panel) This part converts 120vac to 12 vdc when you have the RV plugged into an external source. This pc board module also sends 12 vdc back to the battery to keep it charged when the RV is not connected to the tow vehicle. Im now 99% sure that part of the power center is bad. It is no longer manufactured by Velocitech for American LLC who installed it in their power center. I found a replacement power center that puts out the correct 60amp rating from Bestconverters.com that fits into the exact same size opening. It's on order now. Thx for your help

Do you have a picture you can post so we can see what you are looking at? I also have a 2000 and my converter got hit by lighting a few years ago and I needed to replace it. I don't recall if it was the same make but it was an exact match so it should be easy enough to swap out. Please keep us posted.

Hi Lynn,

Sounds like you are on the road to recovery with your converter.

Here is how to post a pic to the forum which can be very helpful in the future.

2 ways. Up load them to the site, or link them to here from a photo server.

Jim is absolutely correct. The converter is a Centurian which is no longer being manufactured. (CS3500, CS4500, and CS6000)

This converter DOES require that it "sees" 12 volts before it will turn on. Many other converters will put out 12 volts without seeing a battery.

Also, the mounting box for the converter board is shallow so many replacement boards do not fit in the box.

If you are not getting 12V house lighting and follow 110V A/C to the converter there is a board problem, in my mind. The 12V out that needs a battery connection is for battery charging only. The battery doesn't have to be installed to have house lighting. With 110V A/C in and good fuses for the 12V out circuits there should be house power. Replace with new unit. Glad you found one that fits and can get it installed.

Probably in by now.

Jim, on my vintage Centurion converter I found out the hard way that without a battery (or with a dead battery) the converter does not turn on and there are no house lights. Momentarily connecting a battery, or connecting to the tow vehicle, will give you house lights.
