Need help on what kind of siding my sunline has..

The Previous owner backed into something causing the corner of the trailer to get damaged. I would like to fix it so it looks better. I posted a pic of it with the damage in the mid right hand corner. the camper is a 1983 21' gooseneck. Any help of how to remove and replace the siding would help would be great. Also need to know what style the siding is. Thanks.

Hi Jpares,

This thread may help with the siding on and off and the butyl taping of the corners too. While it is mt slide, the siding and corners are similar. http://www.sunlineclub.com/forums/f7...age-10695.html

The siding comes off starting at the bottom of the camper and then goes up. It will take extra care to pull the staples so you can reuse the good siding.

To get new siding that matches, that might be tough. Here are some places to start. I have never ordered from any of these, however I booked marked them in case I ever had to start looking

RV Siding and Aluminum RV Travel Trailer Siding | Hemet Valley RV

And a video of Hemet making it.
Metal Siding For Your Vintage RV - YouTube

And here to AllRite Mfg Siding

There are also surplus places near Elkhart IN. It will be hit and miss the pattern matches however if they have it, it will be cheaper. If you need these kind of places, I know of 4 of them. Let me know I’ll dig them up. Heads up, you will really need to have them send you a pic or something with dimension to make sure you get the right stuff. That about goes for anyone really.

Hope this helps

John

PS. Paint color, odds are high you will have to take an old piece to an place that has computer match colors for autos.

Thank you for your help. I did in fact find the places your talking about in a thread on this forum on places to buy the siding. I just had no idea how it goes on. I would imagine those places will ship a small order?

Taking the siding on and off is not that bad once you know what to expect.

Do not know about the freight of shipping, never had to have siding shipped "yet". It will be a call and find out kind of call. Odds are the frieght might be more than the siding.

Let us know how you make out. This comes up from time to time and we do not have a lot of feedback on what folks have come up with.

Good luck

John
