Need Help on Roof Vent

This is my first stab at using this forum and read your comments. Someone gave me a trailer that looks the exact same as yours. I have started with replacing the air vent over the bed. Can you help me with finding this or do you think it is needed. A/C seems to work. Also I have replaced door panels and wood frame but need replacement door locks

Hi rchancey,

Welcome to Sunline Owners Club. Congrats on your camper.

Your question, which camper are you referring to that yours looks like? Give us a little info to go on so we can help better. Once we have some info from you, I will move your post/replies from the for Sale forum to the Repairs and Maintenance Forum for better viewing/answers. Not everyone visits this area to answer other than those selling or wanting to buy a camper/part etc.

When you mean the air vent over the bed, do you mean the crank up plastic vent hatch? If so they sell replacement covers. Like these
RV / Camper Vents, Domes & Fans at Trailer Parts Superstore

But let us know this is what you are looking for as they make a few hinge mounting styles and you can accidentally get the wrong one. Once we and you figure out what camper model/year you have we can better help make sure you get the right mounting hinged.

Hope this helps

John

To help back into a model, if you know the year or even close to the year (Title should have the year)

Look on top of the forum. There are tabs up there. Move your mouse over them. Click the one called "Files" There is a lot of good stuff in there.

Go to Brochures and search for your year. Download a copy. Then look at the floor plans and the camper length and back into a model. Heads up, you can only down load different files so fast. You may have to wait a minute or so between down loads. It will tell you if your going too fast.

SunLine Fan on the forum may be able to decode your VIN to help add some more info. Post your VIN on this post and He will be along to help.

Hope this helps and good luck with your camper.

John

Welcome!
Sounds like an escape hatch, does it have a red handle?
About what year? Door lock , knob outside lever handle inside?
We love pics.

It definetly is not an escape hatch.I will measure this afternoon but in the meantime I know it is rectangle and had a handle to raise it but handle is broken. This vent is directly over the bed. I have a 1982 FW 18 .5 RD

I have a 87 cab over and my rectangular vent is a exit. They are required in the "bedroom". They crank open ,but the lid and screen will also open.

Roof vent

I agree. I assummed it was a vent because I saw a screen. Now, where can I find an escape hatch and replacement door knobs ?

Learned something new. The TC 's and the little 5ers have roof escape hatches. Makes sense and why, just never realized that being in the Travel Trailer world.

I have never bought from these sites so have no idea how good they are for service. However if you can find the size, brand on this site then search the web on that make and part number to a site you trust. Elixir is one of the type/brands that makes escape hatches. Don't know if you need just the cover or the entire flange and all.

RV Discount Suppliers Hatches

RV PARTS, HARDWARE SUPPLIERS. - Vents

You find most any camper part on the web if you can figure out what they call it. "RV Escape Hatch" brings up a qty of reading.

Hope this helps

John
