Maple Cabinet Repair

Would anyone happen to know the brand / color of the vinyl contact paper used by Sunline to cover the frame of the maple cabinets ?
I have a small scrape on a corner that I would like to repair.

Thanks in advance for any help.

denny

This will be hard to replace inconspicuously. I would try one of those "stain matching" crayons (Minwax??) found in any paint department. It won't look worse, but might be enough of an improvement to leave it.

I bought one of those in '99 right after we bought the TT. It was made by Minwax, and I still have it. Over the years it has been very handy keeping the interior of the TT looking like new. Depending on the size of the nick or gouge, using the color stick will completely hide most of them.

If you have an outside corner that seems to get nicked a lot, I would suggest touching it up with the color stick, and then get one of the clear plastic corner protectors available at any home center or hardware store.

If the nicking is really bad, I think a piece of aluminum angle would cover the damage and protect from further harm. You might even be able to find something in a brass or gold finish that would look even spiffier.

If you take your TT to a dealer, explain your situation. They often will have a kit of the crayons in different colors to match. Believe it or not, new units, especially some of the cheaper ones, need some touching up. They usually go through the new units and used ones only a couple years old. They might let you borrow the crayons or charge you a nominal fee, but if you can find a crayon at a store that matches well, that would be best.

Morning Denny,

How big of a scrape do you have. I "might" still have some of the tape out in Sunny. I can look later today when I get home from work.

Maple Cabinet Repair.

Just wanted to say " Thank You " to everyone, for their suggestions.
They were all very helpfull, and if I have no luck in locating the contact paper, then I will definitely use the ideas mentioned.

Thanks again,
Denny Kerr
