Looking for a Special Toilet Seat

I don't like the toilet seats, they are not designed logically. In addition to camping, we also like to cruise. IN fact, we have cruised many more days than we have camped. I paid close attention to the toilet seat on our last cruise. Though the toilet seems to be the same size, the seat is designed so nothing is hanging over on the inside of the bowl. In our Sunline, the majority of the seat hangs over the inside of the bowl making the opening just perfect for a small child....doesn't fit adults very well though. WHere can a seat like those on a cruiseship be purchased. I have been looking but no luck. Has anyone seen one anywhere?

Sunline Fan is an unknown quantity at this point
Next time, take a bigger suitcase !!!!

Just kidding, I really have no idea where you could get a different seat. I have a funny feeling you'd end up replacing the whole toilet in order to make the seat work. Next time you do go on a cruise though, see if you can find the manufacturer name on the toilet and write it down.

I hope my explanation of how the seat sits on the bowl is clear. It makes the toilet operate as a long bowl vs. a short bowl and I am quite certain that most men here know how important that can be.

I think most of the Cruise Ships are built overseas. It is probaly a european style seat . I agree next time you take a cruise check the name on the seat. Or you could call one the cruise lines and try to talk to someone in the maintance dept.

"Traveler Lite

Standard seat mounts accept any replacement seat and bolts are easy to reach without removing toilet."

I got the above quote from http://www.dometicusa.com/sanitation.php?product=25

If this is true, then you should be able to get one anywhere........say WallyWorld or your local hardware store. Just don't steal the one from the cruise as I may be the next one to take a................seat!!!! Marshall

I never have enough room in my suitcase after a cruise for a toilet seat so you are safe. Maybe I can just get a regular long bowl then. I don't really care if there is a little overhang on it. THanks.

The last time we were redoing a house, I joked with Cindy on the fact that both Home Depot and Lowe's have an entire isle for just toilet seats.

Now go to a high end place like The Great Indoors and you should be able to find some high-end toilet seats fit for a king. Like Marshall said, any toilet seat will fit on a toilet as long as the holes match up.

Good Luck on your new seat. I didnt see the toilet seat on the list of things you wanted on the Christmas list thread
