LED light for over dining table
We've replaced lots of lights with LEDs. Thanks for all the help. But, we've yet to find a replacement for the tubes (or an entire fixture) for over the dining table. Any suggestions?
Thanks! Looking forward to Spring!

It really depends on how handy you are. I just installed 8 new flush mount LED assembles as part of an interior redo in my camper I hate with a passion the plastic RV fixtures. I can say nice looking fixtures are hard to find but they are out there some assembly will be required batteries not included.

Wished you hadn't asked that I'll have to go look at my records some one else asked and I could not remember! They were pretty cheap like $8.95 and very good quality, it was an ebay rv outfit I'll look them up and let you know.

Thanks for looking it up... appreciate that. I will check out his auctions to see if I can buy less than the 10 in this listing.

Tom's an excellent woodworker. If he made a fancy drop down box to put these in (like in the picture) would one of these be sufficient over the dining table? Or two smaller lights in the box.

LED's are interesting they do not have the lumens a normal bulb does but they also don't waste light where it can not be use like inside of a fixture pointing up. I have some lights that are 220 lumens but they are a bright as the 10 watt halogen they replaced at 1/8 the wattage. Two would be all the light you'll ever need. Here is a picture of two of the smaller ones in the bath.

Mainah,
Thanks for the pics and the link. It looks like a great looking fixture at a price less than changing out the bulbs alone!
I'm wondering about switches. The light fixtures do not seem to include one. Did you snake wire down to new wall switches? What switch did you use?
Thanks,
T

They don't, I just bought some good looking ones at Radio Shack and put them close to the lights. I had made custom flush LED lighting and wished I had found the light I bought before I did it would have been a lot cheaper. There were 13 1157 bulbs in a little 17' camper drawing a total of 320 watts I have not checked them with a meter yet but I'm guessing it's closer to 35-40 watts now with every thing on at once. I'm in the process of doing a good bit of work to the inside of the camper and finding out just how they put the thing together and running wire in walls is just shy of impossible. Of course if they are all ready wired it's just a matter of joining the wires at least when they wired it they left plenty of excess.

Mainah, thanks for all the good info. We've ordered four of the 240 lumens-3.2". Two for over the table and two for over the sink. Tom is going to make something out of an oak plank and bevel (is that what I mean?) the edge. And put them up in that. Should be really nice looking !! I am not great at photos, but will attempt to put some up when the project is done.
