Greasing an Electric Tongue Jack
I greased my electric tongue jack yesterday. Today was the first day I hooked up power to it (remember, it's a car trailer) and found it was making an unusual noise. I took it apart again this evening and pulled the gearing apart and found a glob of grease against the gear. I never expected less grease to make a huge noise difference, but taking some grease out actually helped with the noise. Just thought I'd share that if anyone else is thinking of greasing their jack. BTW, it's a H&H (Barker) High Torque Jack.
Sorry I don't have any pics to help explain, but I was fighting daylight and it was winning!
