We'll be camping in Palo Duro Canyon a couple of times last half of next month, and have been getting our Sunny ready.
We thought she was going to need a paint job, because she looked really dull and faded. Turns out, it was just a lot of oxidation that we managed to handle pretty well. (It was so bad that it streamed off white in the rinse cycle.) Gave her a good bath/scrubbing with Simple Green, followed up with Magic Eraser and some elbow grease, and then a good workout with Meguiar's paste wax. (I was impressed with the Magic Eraser, BTW.) I can't believe the difference! Compared to the way she was, the base color and stripes that we kind of gave up on? Well, there's no comparison. No, the decals/stripes aren't perfect but they look much more presentable.
Another project was the cushions. I finally got them done. The original is on the right, the new on the left. What do you think? Does it work? The curtains do have blue in them, very close to the color of the cushions, but you can't see it that well in this pic.
Our TV has been getting some attention as well. New disk brake rotors, bearings, seals, pads - due to pedal pulsing because of uneven rotor thickness. New tires on the front. Gotta check the rear brakes as well. If they need anything, I'll git 'er done. Plenty of time. I also got a new 7-way connector that I'm going to replace on the truck. I ran over some high crusty snow over the winter that was crusty enough to break the one I had. Scuffed the wires and the cover broke enough to take the plug retaining tab with it. Can't have it unplugging on the road - especially at night. <G>
We're getting anxious.
