Front window removal and repair

I have a 2007 tr1950 with a broken front window. Has anyone ever removed and repaired this window. Your advise would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I have removed the front window on my camper, not for being broken but to replace the sealing tape to the camper. This should be the same procedure for yours

The window frame work come out fairly easy. Inside the camper is a flange ring around the window with lots of white square point screws. You take all those screws out, make sure someone is outside when you remove the last screws, and the window frame will push out and separate from the camper.

Sometimes the sealant tape is stuck pretty good and the will not want to come unstuck from the camper. Here you need to push from inside on a corner firmly but not overdoing it. Once it starts to separate, then gently keep working it loose until the window frame lets go.

Most times you have to take the valance and blind off to get the inside window flange off. Here are some pics of the removal process. A glass repair place may be able to help with the broken window part.

Let us know if you need help with new tape and the install process.

Hope this helps

John

Window

Thanks John. This has been very helpful. Was/Am just a little nervous to take the window completley out. But it looks like the only way. Was thinking about biting the bullet and having it done at the RV repair center. Am also concerned about leaking afterwards.
Does it look like the glass comes out easily to be replaced?

I myself have never had the glass replaced. Others have. I do not exactly know how they take the window apart to change the glass.

Taking the window unit out of the camper is not hard. And when you get to putting it back in, need to use the correct sealing tape and putting the window unit back in can be done with no concerns of a leak.

The new glass in the physical window, again do not know for sure. A glass repair place that does this for a living should be able to tell you and have some kind of guarantee on their work. You can always test it with a water hose after you install it so you know.
