OK, now your getting somewhere.... you either have 2 problems or 1 big common one. I have always said, when it is really broke it is sometimes easier to fix. Intermittent can drive one nuts...

The control board runs the show. It tells the 120AC element to turn on and off and it also runs the LP gas side of things when it on gas mode. Sometime all of it dies or only part of it, but have to prove that 1st.

You may be suffering from corroded grounds. The is a post (screw) by the terminal strip by the control board that has many ground wires all tied to one screw post. Take they apart, sand them up, if you have some dielectric grease put that on to help stop corrosion and try again.

Your going to have to dust off that meter... and start checking the incoming 12 volts to the control board.

Once you have good ground and known good voltage, then start on the igniter checks I talked about on post # 11 of this thread.

The system should attempt to light even with no gas, you should be hearing the snap, snap, snap after a confirmed click that is the gas valve.

Hope this helps and good luck

John

I hate to state the obvious but have you verified you still have 110 at the outlet? On mine the GFI tripped in the bathroom and shut down the whole AC system. I even swapped the main breaker out before I discovered that one.

He pointed out earlier that the Check light dosen't come on. I'm thinking there is something going on in the top panel. when I had trouble with main board Check light still came on.

But, after he removing the tanks check light DID come on.
Have you removed burner covers?
Dirty burner / low gas pressure unit can light - no check no cooling
On your retest on elec, unit level, ran for 1 or 8 hours? Pipes hot?
