Factory Radio

Has anyone else had a similar problem with the factory Radio, when you use your TV remote to make changes to the channels they also affect the Radio? My remote turns on the Radio and also changes the stations. I'm sure there is something that can be bought from Radio Shack to help in preventing this from happing again. Any thoughts?

I have heard of this happening on other trailers as well.

I hate to say it, but most people seem to just out a piece of tape over the radio' sensor, as it was used the least (with a remote.)

I too have the radio that changes stations with the TV or DVD remote. You have two choices, remove the radio and send it back to the "radio" factory OR put a piece of black electrical tape over the small bluish-purple sensor that is located on the left hand side of the face plate. You might have to look at the faceplate from an angle to see the sensor. I choose to just put a piece of tape over mine Not sure "IF" the factory fix would still allow the radio sensor to operate, the tape is not real noticabe.

I asked that question of LaRue back in 05! She said put tape over the sensor....but it dosen't work. I like to watch TV from the bed (we have a 1950) and when I shut off the TV the radio will come on!

We had our grandson going crazy when this would happen last year!

Kathy,

Did you use black elctrical tape to cover the sensor.? That is what I used and my radio no longer reacts to the other remotes.

Kitty

Yes Kitty - we used the black electrical tape and it still manages to switch the radio on - even when we sit in the living room area and use the remote for the TV it will turn on. This year - I may just use a much "larger" piece of tape and see if that might work. DH cut a round piece to fix over the sensor - he didn't want it to look to obvious!

I quess since that is the only problem we ever encountered with the TT - we know that Sunline Coach was the right choice for us!

You mean everyone doesn't have a LCD-HD flat screen from 1950????

I had the same problem with the radio in my T-2553. Everytime you change the channel the radio comes on. I unplug the wire connector to the radio which is located in the cupboard beneath the radio. Hope I don't wear the connector out.
