electric help

1984 sunliner 33 ft. My air conditioner and water heater stopped working...A guy at camping world said these old coaches sometimes have a reset like an efi. Any ideas.

Also does anyone have an owners manual,,, did not see one in the files section.

Don't know much about your camper be both items are energy hogs and most likely not on any GFI Have you checked the breakers in the panel box? The A/C for sure is a 20 amp breaker not sure how your the heater is protected but it will be connected to a breaker.

An 84 Sunline would almost certainly be propane only.... Have you tried to light the pilot yet?

No there are no manuals available....however you can download each appliance spec sheet/manual and make your own "owners manual"

In addition there is so much information here about Sunlines that you can find any info about your TT.

If you can't find it by searching (I know I don't like the search function - but then again I'm not that "search informed") ask and someone will most likely be able to direct you to what it is that you need!

OK - see if there is a GFI on your bathroom or anywhere else in the TT - sometimes when it blows that is the culprit!

Hi Randy,

We need a little more to go on.

Tell us about, what was all on 120 VAC when it stopped working?

And how long did it work before it went out?

Is this the 1st time you have used the camper?

While we are assuming this is a 120AC problem it can be a DC problem at least on the Air Conditioner. The AC unit needs 12 VDC to run the control board. Your HW heater, I'm making an assumption you have a manual light, pilot light gas unit? Or has someone upgraded the heater to a DSI (direct spark ignition) unit? And if that is the case then 12 vdc is there too. Or missing in this case.

In 1984 I do not think a GFI made it into the AC or the HW heater. They did not even do it in 2004 like in mine.

Need some more info. You "might" be suffering from a 12 VDC blown fuse.

Hope this helps

John

PS on the manuals, this would not be in the manual. There are 2 manuals for travel trailers in the files section. One a slide unit the other a non slide unit. Those manuals still pertain to your coach for the most part. The appliances are different and we can find manuals for them on the web. The info you are seeking would not be in a Sunline manual. It might be in the manual for the AC unit and your HW heater unit. If you post us the model and serial numbers of the AC and HW heater we can help find them for you if you can't find them.

Yeah if it's nothing but propane a breaker won't help it a bit!
