Door Trim Help!

Hmm.. I tried posting this already but it doesn't seem to be showing up. I'm new here, though, so apologies in advance.

So we are trying to repair a door and having a heck of a time finding the proper trim to replace what's missing. The door was ripped off of the body before the camper came into our possession.

I will link an album with pictures to show what I mean. I need replacement aluminum trim for the door itself that holds the weather stripping.

Welcome Lena,

I’m assuming by the pics, you are after the outer aluminum framework in your door. That is going to be hard to find as a replacement on a door that old. Many members have rebuilt the wood in the door but had all the metal parts to start with.

Unless you can find an old Sunline someone is parting out the same size as your door, you may be left with trying to straighten out what you have now and or making a new outer frame. If you have a buddy in the metal working business with press break, they can form up that shape and you can buy the stick on gaskets from Steele Rubber products on line.

An entire new door may cost in the $600-$800 range shipped to you. There are places that sell all new door units. You would replace the frame in the camper as part of the unit. Lippert Industries could make you a door to order as one place to look for one. They made me a cargo door 2 years ago and the cost was not that bad but it was not an entire entry door with a window.

Hope this helps

Let us know how you make out it can someone else in the future looking for the same thing.

John
