Darco and reverse polarity fuse

While removing the shower p-trap to replace a leaking, poorly installed shower drain (not enough putty and no rubber gasket under lock nut), I noticed daylight coming from the Darco layer. There are several pinholes in the membrane and it looks like the PO sliced it open at the wrong joist cavity near the shower plumbing. What can I use the patch up that area? Now that I am thinking about it, I may make a bottom access panel to get to the drain plumbing from the outside. Hmmm.
Next, a member with the same converter as mine, a WFCO WF-8955AN, posted a picture showing 2 40amp reverse polarity fuses. I only have 1 installed, with no issues. I am considering installing the second fuse (if I can find a Littel 40 amp fuse), but am of the belief "If it ain't broke, don't fix it!" Any thoughts?

There's a tape specially made to close up any tears, cuts, or pinholes in the Darco:

As for the fuse, I'm not sure. I'd have to look at mine to see if I have it too. First, see if you can see behind the panel and see if there are any wires going to the other slot. It's possible the other trailer had some other option that required it, that yours doesn't. But agreed overall, if it ain't broke, don't fix it lol.

Hi Jim,

On the shower P trap Darco, I do not know what you are seeing exactly but I can say this, Sunline did on purpose install some slits or little holes in the boxed in area of the P trap. There should be a 2 x 4 or 2 x 3 etc boxed in area under the trap. Then they hole slit the Darco going over that area.

The reason I came too on what they did this is, for a leak. If the trap leaks which can happen, then the water drippings can leak out and not fester in the bottom of the camper floor. On my T310SR, my T2499 and my T1950 have this. I have not yet look on the T2475.

On the 1950, due to that floor plan not having inside easy access to the P trap, Sunline added a removable panel on the bottom of the camper to get to the drain trap. This panel screwed to the boxed in area from the bottom up. And there was a few holes in it.

Point being, you may not want to totally seal it up watertight in that P trap location.

On the fuses, you mentioned this before. From what I could find those are backwards polarity protection fuses. See here for more on it. http://www.sunlineclub.com/forums/f7...tml#post143659

Hope this helps

John

Thanks for the reply, John. The pinholes are in the trap area. When looking at the trap through the front access panel, you can see daylight coming through the tiny holes near the tral. They did serve their purpose in releasing the leaking water from the shower drain. The slit darco was in the next cavity over. When I pulled it down, it exposed an empty cavity. That is where I am going to seal. The T-2475 has the underbelly access panel to the shower. I never opened it up. I haven't been able to find any info on why there are two fuse holders for reverse polarity. I am going to check if there are wires connected to the second one. Everything works fine, so i am more curious than concerned.
