Converter Problem???

OK here goes. Two weeks ago when I went to hook up the trailer the landing gear wouldn't work. The battery went flat. However, the trailer had been plugged in since returning home from the last outing. I have a voltage meter inside the trailer and the voltage is constantly in the 115-120 range, so no problem there. I hooked up to the truck and the 12 volt worked fine. When I got to the campground I hooked up to the 50 amp and everything was fine. Tonight I go out to the trailer to load the fridge and misc to get ready to leave tomorrow afternoon and the battery is dead again.

Everything was fine 2 days ago when I was out there and again the coach is plugged in. The converter is a Centurion 6000 and doesn't look like the orig. because the face plate for the breakers doesn't line up. I noticed the green light that looks to be marked overload is on. When I took out the battery fuses (as instructed by the dealer, who isn't standing behind the coach I just bought) the light turns red for a split second before turning green again when I put the fuses back in. I'm guessing that red is bad and green is ok. I'm stuck for information because the manual I have for this is only one page. Oh, the battery was load tested and read ok. Any help would be great. That's weird. I have no idea what could be the problem, other than it is probably the converter. My only suggestion would be to try another battery anyway, just to prove that's not the problem. I'm not suggesting you buy a new one, just take it out of something else temporarily.

For those of you who are TT smart and FW dumb, landing gear is the term used to refer to the front two jacks that lift the front of the trailer. They basically are the FW version of a tongue jack, except they're power (on the newer ones) and there's two of them.

Just getting ready to leave for work and I checked the battery. I hooked up my battery charger to it on trickle charge last night, and now it's full. I guess the converter isn't charging the battery. The only thing I can't understand is why. When I get it to the campground I'll see if it works there. Maybe I'm not getting the amps I need at the house? Thanks.

Here’s a link to the Centurion 6000 Owners Manual, which has some wiring diagrams.

A couple things to check.
- There’s an in-line fuse between the battery and converter. On my 2005 it’s located in a exterior box attached to the front trailer frame. In our 1999 it was located under the bed. Check to make sure the fuse is not blown. If none of your lights work when running off the battery, this could be the cause.

- Check the wiring between the battery and converter to make sure no connections have come loose.

- Check to make sure all ground connections are good.
