Cleaning Range Hood

After our last camping trip my wife cleaned the Range Hood with either windex or a baking soda solution and it really messed up the finish on the Hood. It left it full of streaks and we have tried everything to get it off and nothing seems to work. It is almost like the streaks are clear coated over.
Anybody have this problem and are we just going to have to live with it.

Thanks

The only thing I can think of would be to try some car/boat wax. Hope that helps!

Windex tends to leave some film behind, apparently, that's what "makes glass shine." A cleaning with dish soap may help remove that film.

If that doesn't work, a vinegar & water solution (start weak, beef it up as needed) is worth a shot.

If you still can't get it off, and you have one of the simpler Jensen hoods, they've been going on ebay for around $30 lately.
