Camper log

About 20 years ago I started keeping a Composition note book in the camper. I write down information about condition of the campgrounds the site number, and general events of the trip, I also have family phone numbers, as well as cell numbers in the book. I have another section any parts replaced with the part number as well as where I purchased the part and all maintenance done to the camper. I also have a master list in my Documents of a checklist I print off, that we go over before a trip. I have found the notebook and checklist very helpful over the years. And it’s fun to look back on trips notes from years past.

I do all that myself and include dates and mileage with each entry. That way I know the total mileage on the camper and tires and breakes for example and while keeping data on added items like a maxx air I also know the warranty limits. Additionally, every campsite we visit for the first time, we take a walk and rate each campsite on their map from unusable (for our camper) to 4 star. It takes the guess work out while making reservations on Reserve America.

Other data we include is cost for the site, TV reception and what channels, cell phone reception, and satellite radio reception and good places to buy wood. I also note how level it is and how much wood I need to level the unit. The form I created includes a simple check box for a lot of info to make it simple.

Can you share the form you made?

I'll look for it or scan it and post it. It's in excel and easily duplicated.

Okay, I know there's a hundred ways of doing this and here's one of them. I keep a simple entry form combining service and travel in date order to have a running total of mileage on the camper. I keep a running total of nights spent in the unit too although I don't know why. In the same notebook I keep reservations and a current calendar in the front insert. I also have a simple form to write down things to do or repair as they come up. You might be able to print this blank .BMP form and use it yourself.
