Battery Care in the Winter

I Know this has been asked before but I need to hear it again. In the winter do you 1: Laeve the battery one the TT and charge periodically or 2: Take it off and bring it in the house or other warm area. I think it is okay to do the first but I can be wrong eh.

I bring it inside and once a month or so put a charge to it.

I keep my trailers plugged into a receptacle in the barn year round. The batteries are constantly receiving a charge.

Ted; I live in the mid-coast area of Maine,where it's pretty cold right now. The battery from my T2363 is removed & put inside down in my basement so that it doesn't freeze. I bought a battery maintainer that keeps a charge on the battery until it's time to put it back in the trailer. The maintainer is used on batteries that sit over a period of time, and they are ready to go when you put them back in service. Hope this helps.

I have always taken my batteries off and stored them in a heated garage.

The two batteries from our T1950 are removed & put inside my heated garage . There is a battery maintainer that keeps a charge on the batteries until it's time to put it back in the trailer....do the same thing with the motorcycle & tractor batteries! Just the reserve in the summer - take the snowmobile batteries out and put them on the maintainer!

Got any suggestions for what I should do with these babies :P

Drove all day through an Ice Storm and cried every time I looked in the rear view mirror. Man does it SUCK driving in the winter and watching your baby get coated in salt spray and covered in road grime!!

If you take the batteries out of the camper, don't put them directly on conrete. It will ruin them.

My unit has a trickle charge that will allow me to plug the camper into the house and leave the batteries on the camper. Course, the weather around here is milder than some places.

Well we have taken the battery out and placed it ,on wood, in the garage where we can trickel charge it from time to time. I have an insulated cupboard in the garage were I can store it so it will probably end up there until warm weather.
Thank you for all the great advice. It really helps. If time allows we will be going to Winnipeg MN. for a reunion in Aug. If we can not get time then well, who really knows
