Atwood Hydroflame II replacement with Suburban

My Atwood Hydroflame II 7900 died and I'm replacing it with a Suburban NT16seq. Problem is the vent holes on the outside are vertical not horizonal. Does anyone make an adapter plate to cover the old holes? I'm guessing I'm going to have to fabricate something. Also, the gas line is on the right. Is it safe to run the line over the top or do I need to reroute it? I have a T-17A 1997.

Thanks for any input.

Hmm, good question. You'll likely have to fabricate a new adapter plate.

I agree with Sunline Fan but am wondering why not go with a Atwood replacement and not have to modify anything? When I was still working we always replaced a furnace that was not repairable with what was there, which I only did once in 10 years. The other question is what is wrong with the current one that makes it unrepairable?
