Smile An update to Help with brake fluid spray damage.

Well, the adjustor was here and his options were obvious--reside,repaint,clean...I do not want to re-side as there are just too many obstacles to mention, nobody in our area could do the repainting to a travel trailer and be able to redo the graphics..sooooo,that leaves cleaning.(diminishing value didn't seem to fly as there was no real physical damage.) They have given me a settlement of $800.00 minus $100.00 deductible for cleaning--well,you are looking (listening?) at the cleaner as I don't think anyone can get it off without damaging the surface and we surely don't want that! So, I am going to attempt it--(I turn 71 tomorrow!!) Wish me luck! Probably will take me the entire camping season to do this!! Thanks to all of you for your responses! Janalee

I doubt the brake fluid will clean off, it etches right into the paint. Maybe you can get the dark spots to lighten up. Might be possible to buff it, although the paint will be very thin and it will be easy to go through. Sorry for your misfortune, hope it does clean up.

What a bummer about the paint. I know you did good to find a '02 2363 in such good condition after your long search for one.

I tried a Google search for Krystal Coat but didn't find anything helpfull .... yet. It sure would be nice if there was someone that could repaint it with that although the diamond plate mentioned in another thread looks like a good alternative. After seeing the pictures, I am considering that to cover the "road rash" (small dings from rocks) on mine.

i dont know what would look better. leave the stains, or go to walmart and pick up a tube of white duplicolor automotive scratch fix with the brush and just put a spec of white over each and every brake fluid stain.......id try it on one or two and see how it works out..... its a tough call with such a nice newer trailer.....

You could cover the unit with woodgrained contact shelving paper.

Another thought to cover the front. A while ago I saw a rig that had a snap-on vinyl cover made to protect the front, it might be worth checking into.
