Adding a propane grill

Hi, my T-2499 has a gas line stub for a portable grill. It has a female threaded cap on it. How should I connect this to my Coleman Roadtrip grill? I’m thinking that i would need the filling:
Gas ball valve on the existing stub
Quick connect coupler.
Propane grill hose without regulator.


Is this correct?

Hi Jim,

That gas tap is low pressure, 11" WC (less then 0.5psi) it does work for certain grills or stoves made to run on low gas pressure which require a 2 stage gas regulator.

Do you know if the Coleman Road Trip grill is low pressure or high pressure gas? I have seen them, and I thought they where high pressure (5 to 7 psi) gas pressure using a single stage gas regulator. Just like a standard home outdoor BBQ grill.

If it is low pressure, then yes they do sell gas rated ball shut off valves, gas rated quick couplers and gas rated hose. In this case, low pressure gas vapor hose will work. (1 to 2 psi hose)

If you hook up to that port with a high pressure stove, you not get much heat out of it.
