Good to hear you have your camper all fixed up. A broken spring, yes, that is an issue.
Now that you know where to look for frame cracks, above the hangers and at the A frame header, it would be a good to keep an eye on those areas. The welding up of the frame web crack slowed down the problem, but did address the original issue that caused the cracks. These crack problems on an older camper takes time to develop, inspecting for it, and addresses any issues found early, is the key to longevity.
