2004 Sunline T-2499 HIRE Roof Replacement

I' love to HIRE one of the skilled Sunline enthusiasts that hang out on this wonderful site!

I am the original owner of my 2004 Sunline Solaris T-2499 and it is over due for a new roof. I am prepared to do the roof, replace any damaged wood on any side that may have taken in water, replace any needed doors or windows, etc. In other words, I want to replace the roof and repair anything that reveals itself in the process to make this trailer last another 10 years. I'd also like to replace the TV antenna and maybe the airconditioner (though it works well).
If I can’t get this done outside of the corporate RV repair world, I may just have to sell it. But, selling this family member is too hard to take.
Can anyone help me? Does anyone know someone who can help me? I’m willing drop it almost anywhere for almost any amount of time needed.

Sorry I can't help with your repairs or pointing you to someone that can.

Have you checked the front frame of your T2499.
There was some issues with the front frame bending on the T2499.
I'm not sure if the issue was also found on the 2004 model years.
Check out this post for more info "Bent front frame cross-member on '07 Solaris T-2499"
If you're starting to see bending on your front frame, you definitely want to add that to your repair list.

The cost of what you're talking about repairing could be in the $10,000+ range (non-corporate) and upwards of $20,000+ range (RV dealership).
JohnB probably could give you a more accurate estimate on what you're looking at costs since he's done an excellent job on tracking materials costs and labor hours on all his restoration jobs.

Good luck and hopefully you find someone to help you with your repairs.

Need to see more photos. But from what I see a good cleaning and 2 coats of Dicor roof coating should give you several more years on this roof. It's an easy diy job.
There are other diy coatings available but I'm only familiar with the Dicor system.
Before doing thing take PT Hutch's frame advice.
Good luck.

Thank you PTHutch and Jim
I have not noticed any front frame bending but I didn't know to look before now. I have seen nothing and the battery support bars are as straight and true as the first day. My trailer has about 75,000 to 90,000 miles on it.
As for the roof, Dicor has been done a couple of times already.

We had our roof replaced on our 2005 Sunline T-2363. This RV repairman has replaced several Sunline roofs. The name is Marxway out of Saugus Massachusetts. 617-605-9496. He removed the old roof which was just cardboard underneath the rubber roof. He put plywood on the roof then put the new rubber roof on. Very thorough job. It took him 1 week to do the job. Recommend Mark inspecting the rest of your camper to make sure nothing else needs repair. Mark is reasonable and does top quality work. We always have him pack our wheel bearings. If he sees something that needs done, he will let you know. He is worth our 3 hour trip to get the work done. I trust his work.

Wow! How lucky am I! I'm in Massachusetts and need a Sunline Roof pro!!!

Is it too impolite to ask how much it cost to have a roof done?? My trailer is a bit smaller T-1550, but just trying to budget a bit. I spoke to one company that does the "spray on roofs and repairs" and they quoted me $3,300!)

This is a video of the current roof:

I just got a quote to replace my entire roof for $12,000. Too much, I believe. So, I am still looking.

Good News for me - I don't need a new roof after all. When they came down from checking my roof out, they deemed a clean, patch and reseal project only need.
I'm happy about that. I also confirmed my 2004 model has the 5" Channel so that explains why I have no Frame / Hitch issues at all. Good round of news for me!

That's great that you don't need a full replacement. I replaced the roof on my Saturn 24-foot this past spring and although it was a time-consuming and labor-intensive project I am glad I was able to do it on my own and save myself hundreds if not thousands of dollars in repairs. I purchased the materials I needed online and had them shipped to me and over a two-week period of working nights and weekends in my spare time I was able to complete the project. Cost me about $800 in materials. Solo progect. The only assistance I required was an extra hand to get the AC unit off and on the roof throughout the process.
