I don't believe any 1550s have dual axles.

Welcome 2001Softy

Glad you found us and it looks like you will join the Sunline reconstruction artist club too…

Everything is these campers is fixable and it really helps on the wallet if your handy with the fix’in.

Where to start. Well I do not know if there is an exact must follow procedure but this is what I would try. Gently remove the wall paneling in the affected area. Then you can look at how good or bad the situation is. This will then guide you where to dig further. We have seen here on SOC some have fixed the rot and never had to take off the siding but it is a case by case situation. Key is you need to get it all out or it will keep rotting and spreading.

Here is a product I used this spring fixing my rotted slide floor. http://www.rotdoctor.com/

You take out as much rotted wood as you can to replace and then there will be some, questionable areas or maybe parts of a roof rafter or floor joist that you can save by injecting the Rot Doctor resin into the board. And apply to any wet areas or suspect areas once you have fan forced air dried them. This will kill any bacteria that can later cause dry rot.

Good luck and take pics. The pics help all of us and we can see what you are up against and suggest thoughts that may help.

John
