You'll need to put a tarp under a section of plywood wide enough to be on rafters and thick enough to hold you. Rotten rafters are a possibility so make sure you test them before laying the plywood down. We wouldn't want to see you fall through the roof. Good luck!

Ok. Let's do this a bit at a time so we don't get overwhelmed. I'll answer questions and ask questions in each of your posts with the pictures so ideas/info stay together and you can go back and forth to reference.

- is this a rubber roof or aluminum?
- that grayish stuff doesn't look like any material I've used on any of my 3 campers so it may have to be stripped or cleaned to get to the root of any water intrusion issues.
-for now, work off a ladder and do all around the edges. you can also test the rafters by "leaning" on them a little to see if they are still attached. Once we ensure that the roof rafters are good, you can lay a moving blanket or tarp down and lay small pieces of plywood across a few rafters so you can get up on top.

- Once out side is done, get as much stuff out of the way as you can so you can see how much wallboard, ceiling, framing and insulation you have to replace.
- you will need to check the floor in those affected areas to see if they need work too.

- I wouldn't take it out as this looks just like a wood frame closet and the regular ceiling like in the rest of the camper. You can tell by the 1" strapping that covers the ceiling panel seams. I would just test for softness in the ceiling and wall and pull out what is bad and replace.

I'm not sure it's mighty dirty, what would I use to strip it?

I found a whole to the left of the window in the master or back bedroom, any idea or suggestions on how to fix? I have some metal flashing tape thought I did put that on the inside but what about the outside?I'm ordering supplies don't really see anything that might do it?

Tammy are your plans to park this RV or to travel with it? I have a parked Sunline Seville and the reason I ask is that solutions to your problems may vary if it is not important that the unit be roadworthy...only watertight and structurally sound.

This will be my home when I'm on assignment as a travel Nurse, which my assignments are 13 weeks at a time from east coast to west so I would like to do this as right as I can and have this last me for a long time. I appreciate any input, thanks in advance Tammy

Hi Tammy,
I am new at this so I am not sure how much the siding costs. It looks like where the hole is, that is a short run from the window to the side corner. If that is the case, it may be easier to just replace that piece since you will probably have to take off the corner trim to reseal anyway. There is someone else on the forum who just discovered a hole in their camper. It will be interesting to see how they repair theirs.
Just a thought.
Thanks,
Tommie

Thank you for the input I'm thinking the same, I had an idea to look for a junker and see if I can get a piece of siding big enough to fit it?
