1986 1550 Wiring

Hi everybody. My names Tim. My wife Krissyrae and I, bought a 1986 Sunline Saturn 1550 last October. It had a few issues to get to but right now, I have been tryin to straighten out the wiring for the 7 pin connector, brake away switch and battery as it is kind of a rats nest so to speak. I pulled it all apart and I am currently dealing with the connector to plug into the truck. I see the yellow and black wire in that harness coming into the connector are not even hooked up to the plug. I currently have no rear marker or taillights working. All the others do. I am wondering if anyone would know how to wire a new 7 pin connector with new brake away switch with a small battery for the switch. Thanks in advance!

Hi Tim,
This link show the basics of a 7 wire plug with a breakaway switch. You may need to check which wires are what, someone may have changed the colors. The backup/aux wire on the 7 wire connector isn't always used on all trailers yours may or may not use it.

RV wiring can be very creative over the years people have found out 12 volts can't kill them so twisting two wires together and putting a little tape on them and having some thing work is good enough color and wiring size is not important. The easiest way to find a wiring issue is look for lots of tape!
