1983 t1550 rims & tires

Anyone know offhand the size of the center hole and bolt circle for a 1983 T1550? I was getting antsy for spring and I know the tires need replacing, so I started researching online. But several places offer tire & rim combos for only a few bucks more than the tire alone. I was thinking of replacing the rusty steel rims with nice painted ones while I'm at it, but the trailer is two towns over and it's snowing like crazy here right now. Any help would be appreciated. Also any concerns with replacing the rims?

edited to add correct information: 5 on 4.5 inch bolt pattern, 13 inch rim

Make sure that you get load range c or d tires for your camper, with only 1 axle, there's not a lot of room for excess weight.

Howdy neighbor!! They are 13" 5 lug for sure, but there were a few center hole sizes to choose from. Unfortunately I don't have room in the drive even for the little Sunny. I'll have to remember to measure them next time I get a chance to get over there.

I think you will find they are 5 on 4.5. Not that I know a lot about Sunlines; just 42 years in tires.

Thanks - you are right, they are 5 on 4.5 One of the local tire shops gave me a handy plastic template to match the bolts up to. I'm still on the fence about whether or not to go ahead and replace the rims. Now I'm thinking a good cleaning and some spray paint may work just as well. It's not like I'm gonna have any luck finding the long lost hubcaps.

I'm getting antsy to get to work on the little trailer and it's not even February yet !!! I suppose I could start working on the interior, except I still cant seem to get the heater to work.

Good work on the bolt pattern too- that's nice info to know! I think the "moon" style hubcaps would look mighty cool *and not just 'cuz of my screen name

My best friend had a 1982 T-1550 and he purchased a set of hubcaps at K-Mart, and all I could say was "WOW". I'm telling you it made such a sharp looking change to his trailer. Think the cost was very minimal. Not original Sunline hubcaps, but they did look great.

Most trailer shops stock these, too, and in a variety of sizes. I know from first hand experience as we blew a tire a few years ago in Old Forge, NY, and the little trailer dealer there had one in the 15" size we needed in stock. Their normal stock in trade is utility trailers and snowmobile trailers, but they carry lots of parts and accessories for all sizes of rigs.

and painting the old rims orange to match the stripes. If I paint, I'll most likely still spend the money on baby moon hubcaps & trim rings to give it a more "vintage" look.

I love this site, everyone is so helpful. If I get really antsy I may drag it over to Foxboro to see if Mooney can get my heater working...LOL...

We decided to purchase three Goodyear Marathons, ST185/80R13, each rated for 1480 pounds at maximum inflation of 50 pounds, cost installed was $261. We assume these are the best we can buy but of course have heard horror stories about every brand of tires known to man.

Our loaded trailer weighs 2,200 pounds The tires are rated for 2,960 (2x1480) pound capacity. Therefore we’ll be at 75% of rated capacity, a fair safety margin compared to many rigs, especially considering the fact that we never drive over 60mph.

WeE repained our rims with Rustoleum and bought
